Thank you for visiting the Latino Art Project and Cuervo Studio web site. We sincerely appreciate your interest.
The Latino Art Project was founded in July of 2007 by sponsors Max Fose, Bettina and Andy Nava and Maria and Sal Rivera. Thus far, the sponsors have established Cuervo Studio and Gallery in partnership with artist Martin Moreno and his wife Sylvia Hernandez-Moreno, who will serve as the studio’s manager. (Click HERE to learn more about the project's sponsors!)
Cuervo Studio and Gallery is a place where resident artist Martin Moreno, a well known muralist, can share his amazing talent and knowledge with the greater community. The gallery will also serve as a gathering place for emerging artists to share their work and vision. And, the space will be utilized to host art classes for children and families.
“I am very excited to be involved with Cuervo Studios and the Latino Art Project,” said sponsor Sal Rivera. “I am a big fan of Martin Moreno's art work and it's great to work with Martin to help expose his art to a wider audience. As a parent, I'm also pleased that my children will be learning about art and art history from a talented artist and teacher. I am proud to be part of the arts revival in Phoenix and am thrilled to help celebrate the artwork of Latino, Native-American and other American artists.”
“I believe this studio and gallery provides an opportunity to have discussions and dialogues about the important issues facing our respective communities,” added Bettina Nava. “Perhaps the purpose is not to agree or disagree; it is simply to have the opportunity and forum to interact in a civilized and enlightened manner. I strongly believe that art breeds this type of open-minded environment.”
